Working with communities, industry and Council Members, we have developed the following vision for the Freight Action Plan for West Northamptonshire. Please tell us whether you agree or disagree with this vision.
Our vision is:
To shape West Northamptonshire's freight network so that goods move safely, efficiently and sustainably, supporting local communities, businesses and the environment now and in the future.
To deliver the vision, we have identified five priority objectives. Please tell us whether you agree or disagree with each one.
To deliver the priority objectives, we have developed a five-year programme of actions. Each action supports one or more of the Priority Objectives and is grouped under the most relevant one and we have called them Vision Priority Actions. Your feedback will help us understand which actions have the strongest support and where changes may be needed. For each action, please tell us whether you agree or disagree.
Improve freight routing and network efficiency to support safe and reliable movement of goods whilst minimising negative impacts on communities.
Strengthen partnerships with the freight and logistics sector to support economic growth and collaborative problem solving, and support the growth in rail freight where practical and viable.
Improve freight data, evidence and awareness to support informed decision making across Council services.
Improve management of urban deliveries and kerbside activity.
Support innovation and emerging technologies including mobility hubs, parcel lockers and future freight solutions, and to support the transition to lower-emission freight vehicles and alternative fuels.
